MODx is a Content Management Framework - It allows anyone with some skill and time to build about any website they can think of. The system also allows less skilled individuals to keep complex websites up to date and even add new pages or sections. Nearly all of our websites, including this one, are built on MODx.

We love MODx, we use it for many of our own projects as well as client websites. Many of the documented tutorials where written by members of our team going back to the early versions of MODx.

MODx is not necessarily the best choice for a pure Ecommerce website. It can be done, but if you are looking at selling more than 10 items or so we should look at something else, such as Magento.
